“Aguas Profundas is about going into other dimensions, investigating the mysteries as unknown dimensions, deciphering the signs”.
The volume, published on the occasion of the solo exhibition Aguas Profundas by the Chilean artist Sandra Vàsquez de la Horra curated by Rubina Romanelli in the Room space of the Museo Novecento, covers a body of work created in recent years. Some of the works were created specifically for the occasion after the artist was inspired by the paintings of Mario Sironi in the museum’s permanent collection. Her drawings and recent three-dimensional works draw on an extensive symbolic, surreal and fantastic vocabulary, related to the artist’s desire to sink into deep waters in her quest for meanings.
